{"id":922,"date":"2013-08-25T13:43:50","date_gmt":"2013-08-25T13:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dryfly.me\/?p=922"},"modified":"2013-08-25T13:43:50","modified_gmt":"2013-08-25T13:43:50","slug":"sbs-hatching-caddis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flyfisher.org\/2013\/08\/sbs-hatching-caddis\/","title":{"rendered":"SBS: Hatching Caddis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I haven&#8217;t done many SBS yet here on dryfly.me, but I posted the <a href=\"http:\/\/dryfly.me\/2013\/08\/hatching-caddis-variant\/\">hatching caddis family<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/communities\/111328158710947862944\">the fly fishing community <\/a>over at google+ and got a request for a SBS on this pattern so I thought I would give it a try.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hook<\/strong>: Partridge Klinkhamer X-treme #14<br \/>\n<strong>Thread: <\/strong>UNI 6\/0 Black &#8211; make sure it is tough enough to tie in deer hair<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><strong>Body<\/strong>: Hareline Hare&#8217;s Ear Plus DubbIn Dark Olive<a href=\"http:\/\/dryfly.me\/2013\/05\/hends-superfine-dubbing\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><strong>Wing<\/strong>:\u00a0Deer Hair Olive , 2mm foam white, CDC Olive<\/p>\n<p>1. Cut a strip of foam and tie in, remember to leave enough room behind the eye to tie in both the deer hair, the cdc and the foam. Stack up deer hair and tie in: you need enough to be able to create the split wing, but not too much. Make a dubbing loop of the thread and add the CDC. This is the interesting part: drag the strip of foam slowly to the front through the deer hair and split it into a wing. Wiggle the foam through the hair and make sure the wings are even, look at the fly from above and try again if it is uneven. This is a fly that can be varied in different colors and sizes, the important part is the brilliant profile it gives \u00a0in the water.
